Nothing Exists Until It Moves - Hutchinson | Kemp (2025)

A body enters a world that cannot be seen—
only sensed through disruption.

Soil shifts.
Stones scatter.
Bushes tremble into awareness.

Using a computer vision method known as frame differencing,
the film removes stillness, isolating motion as the sole trace of presence.

The screen becomes a threshold:
what doesn’t move, doesn’t exist.

A meditation on transformation, emergence,
and the invisible forces that shape perception.

Created during a residency at @joya_air, January 2025.
