Education, Mentorship & Digital Facilitation
I teach and mentor across a range of educational contexts, with a focus on creative technologies, digital media, sound, video, and artistic research. My approach is practical, responsive and artist-centred, supporting learners to develop technical confidence while connecting digital tools to their own creative practice. I currently work as a freelance educator, mentor and digital facilitator, offering workshops, private tutorials, project-based support and one-to-one technical guidance for artists, students and arts organisations.
Since 2023, I have worked as Digital Facilitator on the Sherkin Island BA in Visual Arts programme, supporting students through individual technical clinics, digital workflows, media production, documentation, editing, and project development. In this role I work alongside artists and educators including Jesse Jones, Glenn Loughran and Sinéad McCormick, helping students integrate digital processes into their artistic research and studio practice.
Alongside this work, I provide private tuition and technical mentoring tailored to individual needs, supporting learners at all stages of their development. Over the past five years I have developed a growing library of tutorials across a range of creative software, designed for different levels of experience. These resources support both independent learning and workshop-based teaching, covering areas such as video editing, sound production, digital imaging, web development, creative coding and emerging digital tools.
My educational practice is informed by my experience as an artist, technician and technologist, allowing me to bridge technical knowledge and creative exploration while helping learners develop sustainable, adaptable digital skills for contemporary artistic practice.

In 2022, in collaboration with physicist and electronic engineer Dr Daniel Riordan, I received funding from MTU to purchase ten Teenage Engineering PO-400 modular synthesizers. We developed a workshop for Kerry Science Week exploring the science of electronic music, introducing participants to synthesis, signal flow, sound design and experimental audio practice.
Presently....
I am currently mentoring artists Artem Trovimenko and Helen Horgan, supporting their digital documentation practices as well as approaches to lighting, audio recording, and sound design.
I am also developing a workshop introducing the fundamentals of sound recording for visual artists. The workshop aims to address a gap that is often present within contemporary visual arts practice, equipping participants with practical skills to improve the quality of their documentation, installations, and audiovisual work.
